Today marks the 60th day of my P90X2 journey. I have lost 30 lbs from May 2, 2011 until about December 2011. Now I have been consistently staying at the same weight for the past 3 months. I still continue to eat clean and exercise 6 days a week. I really am enjoying P90X2 and I have started to play around with my diet to see if I can't lean out and build more muscle. I am definitely struggling in this area. But have no fear, I will research and figure it out! But I can honestly say that I am happy with how I look and feel in clothes. I went shopping last Friday and was pleasantly surprised with the fact that I could put on a dress and actually like the way it looked! I haven't been able to wear a dress comfortably in 2 years! I was so excited with how my body looked that I walked around the store picking up everything that I thought was even remotely cute and tried it all on! It also didn't help that I had no kids for ONCE and I had time to myself. I soaked up every minute of it. It's nice to finally say that I am comfortable with who I am! I feel like that is a constant struggle for many of us. We are surrounded by perfection in the sense that the TV is plastered with women with these amazing bodies and even in the TurboFire DVD's one of my fit club ladies said, don't they have real women on this video. I had to chuckle because seriously we are surrounded by perfection. Perfection is very hard to achieve and maintain! But I am also the type that is motivated by perfection. I always try my very hardest to strive to be the best version of myself that I can be! So as I work on this P90X2 journey I am reminded that I am doing this to maintain my fit lifestyle but I am also doing this to be the VERY BEST VERSION OF MYSELF THAT I CAN BE! I am working out and eating clean to set an example for my husband, family, and kids! I love the way I feel when I feed myself good food and when I complete that workout!
So, I decided that today was a great day to reflect on my journey and how far I have come in the past year. Seriously, I thank God everyday that my coach found me and that I made the commitment last May to get in shape. Because I could still be sitting on the couch WISHING I had started a year ago. Instead, I got rid of the excuses (I don't have enough time, energy, my kids are to demanding, my house needs cleaned, I am tired, I don't have the right equipment, it costs too much) and I pushed play everyday and I was strict with my eating and I have these rockin after pictures to show! It was no doubt hard work but the support of my challenge group and coach got me through! You have to work hard for the end result, and it is truly worth it!
So as I push play the last 30 days of P90X2 I challenge you to start your journey today! As I approach my 1 year anniversary of my transformation I challenge you to say to yourself, "I am not going to let excuses get in the way of how I want to look and feel!" Get up off the coach, email, call or text me and join my next challenge group and take the attitude of no excuses, not this time, I deserve this! Let's do it together one day at a time and be the best version of yourself that you can be! ARE YOU WITH ME?!
