If you have been following my health and fitness journey you know that I just wrapped up week 1 of Hammer & Chisel. I started week 2 and I'm currently on week 2 day 3! It's been a really fun journey so far!
Hammer & Chisel Rocks
I can honestly say that I feel completely rejuvenated in my workouts. I was definitely getting bored, because that is just how I am and it was time to switch things up. So Hammer and Chisel came at the perfect time for me. I also like starting a new fitness routine during the holidays because it is that extra accountability I needed to stay on track with all the holiday eating.
So after week 1 I felt AMAZING! I was not nearly as sore as I expected to be and I attribute that completely to the Beachbody Performance Line. I am literally singing its praises because it works. Each night by the time I went to bed I could tell that my body was going to be super sore. But by the time I woke up in the morning the soreness partially subsided and I was able to go and crush my workout. I use the Beachbody Performance Pre Workout Energize 15 minutes before workout, then during my workout is the Hydrate, Post workout I drink the Recovery followed by my Shakeology for breakfast, then the Refresh is the night time Recharge formula and that is what helps me not feel nearly as sore the next day. I know that if it wasn't for this routine my outcome might be very different. I can go and crush my workouts and I feel great.

I also really followed the nutrition plan to the T. I allowed myself 1 cheat meal during the week and it was for my friends birthday. The definition of a cheat meal for me is this: Not restricting yourself for 1 meal, NOT an entire day! It's also having what you want with proper portion control and not skipping your workout that day. So when we went out to dinner at Off The Hook which is one of our favorite local seafood restaurants I ordered Chilean Seabass with just salt and pepper, no sauce. I got a salad with dressing on the side, asparagus steamed, jasmine coconut rice and I split a dessert with my husband. We had 1 glass of wine and drank water. I bypassed on the bread basket, the cheese on my salad and multiple drinks. I felt accomplished and on track plus there were no feelings of guilt. Here are my eating out at restaurant tips that I share with my challengers:
The meal plan for Hammer and Chisel is truly easy to follow. I am doing plan B because my goal is to build lean muscle and not to lose weight. So I am really focused on my food each day, tracking with the Beachbody Tracking Sheets that you can find on the Team Beachbody Website under the Get Fit Tab and Tracking Sheets. I am drinking a ton of water, staying hydrated, and it helps to have my husband as accountability but also my challengers and team mates by my side. The holidays are not easy at all to stay focused but I can honestly say that the cookies, the cakes, and all the carb options do not appeal to me. I just love feeling good in my skin and that feeling comes from taking care of what I eat.
Here are some tips to help you get through the weekends which was always the hardest for me. I was great Monday thru Thursday and then I would fall apart. Now, I know the importance of consistency over time with my nutrition.
So what's up for eating this week?
Check out my meal plan below! I'm still keeping it simple, trying some new recipes and staying on track!

Hammer Strength Workout
The workouts are challenging yet they are very doable. I would highly recommend that if you are brand new to lifting and cardio that you do not start with this program. Begin with the 21 Day Fix, Chalean Extreme and work your way to through the Fix Extreme and then this program. Having that core strength, that base level of fitness will help you to maximize your results with this program.
Landon asked If I could wait and workout with him. Of course!! Teaching my kids healthy habits starts now
The one thing I really love about this program is that it changes every day. It is not always the same workout and each week is a challenge. To me, the girl with workout ADD this is genius.
