P90X/Insanity Hybrid Recovery Week

Today is another day, another chance to get it right and another day to write YOUR story!

This is my 4th week of the P90X/Insanity Hybrid and I can honestly tell you that my body is craving this recovery week!  I am not the type of person to enjoy slowing down and taking in the fresh air but I absolutely need it this week!  My body is feeling a little sore and tired.  So yesterday was Core Cardio and Balance from Insanity and today is Max Recovery from Insanity.  I am looking forward to Yoga tomorrow!  I honestly can't tell you how good it felt to just stretch out all of my sore muscles.

So because I am not busy burning major calories I planned out my meals and am being very conscious of what I am eating this week.  It will help me to stay energized and full without feeling like I am losing ground with my progress.

Recovery week is a part of P90X for so many reasons!  Over-training is more than just a risk in high level training programs like P90X, but it is sometimes forgotten in many home programs.  You only get stronger at rest is a popular saying in the fitness world.  Recovery helps helps you to prevent over training, plateau's and injury!  Recovery doesn't mean rest, but instead it means that your doing less resistance and focusing on mobility, endurance, ans static and stabilizer muscle strength which will in turn help you to excel at the next phase in your program.  So never take the recovery week lightly!  It is there for your benefit and lots of research has been done to provide you with the proper training methods.

I was actually quite sore today from core cardio and balance because the entire workout focused on core stabilization!!

Next week I will be moving onto Phase 2 of my hybrid and back to building muscle and strength!  For now, let there be rest and recovery!!!

Sneak Peak:  I just had to share with you what a typical week of clean eating looks like for me!  I hope this helps you to create your own meal plan.  I suggest using the Team Beachbody site to create a free account with me as your coach and to help you determine how many calories you should be eating a day to maintain appropriate energy and fuel for your day.  Under the eat smart tab and nutrition tools you can find the calorie calculator.
