Teriyaki Halibut Recipe |
Happy Tuesday!!! I had every intention of posting this recipe a few weeks ago and then life got busy and I totally forgot! We had this for dinner a few weeks ago and my husband loved it. My kids devoured the entire meal and were asking for more. I really think this is going into the rotation. We are big fans of Asian food so this is a great way to save yourself from excess sodium that you would get when eating at a restaurant.
We purchased a large piece of halibut at Costco when we were there and cut it into proper serving sizes for the family.
Ingredients:
4 fresh halibut steaks (6-8 oz each)
1/2 cup low sodium soy sauce or Bragg Liquid Aminos
2 tsp finely chopped fresh ginger
1/2 tsp Asian Sesame oil
1/4 cup dry Sherry or red cooking wine
1 tsp worcestershire sauce
2 tbsp chopped green onion
2 medium cloves minced garlic
Non stick cooking spray.
Directions:
Rinse halibut steaks in cold water and press dry. Combine low sodium soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, ginger, sesame oil, sherry, onions, and garlic in saucepan.
Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer slowly for 5 minutes. Strain liquid and chill.
Place halibut steaks in a shallow non aluminum pan and cover with marinade. Refrigerate for 15 minutes. Remove halibut steaks from marinade and drain.
Spray broiling pan with non stick spray. Place under broiler 4 to 5 inches from heat and cook 8 to 10 minutes per inch of thickness. Turn over halfway through total cooking time. Garnish with additional fresh chopped green onion slices.
Very good!!! We served it with a baked sweet potato and roasted asparagus!!!
