I have this obsession and it begins with an "O" and ends with an "L" CAN YOU SAY.....OATMEAL!!!!

Mason Jar Overnight Oatmeal

I have found this most amazing recipe for Mason Jar over night oatmeal that I have to share!  I made this with my boys and they are all stacked in the fridge and ready for the week.  We made these in less than 30 minutes (it took a little longer bc I had little hands helping me).  This little jars are perfect to throw in your lunch bag, eat for a snack or share with your kids!  Super easy and full of flavor!!!

The great part is that you eat them cold so you don't even have to warm them up.

What do you need?

Ingredients for overnight oats

Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal

Ingredients:

1/4 cup uncooked old fashioned rolled oats
1/3 cup almond milk
1/4 cup low fat greek yogurt
1 1/2 teaspoons dried chia seeds
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon honey
1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce or enough to fill the jar.

In a 1/2 pint jar or 1 cup jar put in the oats, milk, greek yogurt, chia seeds, cinnamon and honey.  Put the lid on and shake that up!  Open up the jar and add in the applesauce to the top, cover and shake.  Refrigerate overnight or up to 2 days. Eat chilled!

  1. Would substituting flaxseeds for chia seeds work? I'm having trouble finding chia seeds.

    1. @Katie yes it absolutely would work!! :) I have found Chia seeds at Costco and at all the local grocery stores near the baking supplies or near the breakfast foods. Bobs Red Mill Brand has them! :) Good luck!

  2. I have never been an oatmeal person, but I decided to try the apple cinnamon to see. If my mom had served it to me like this when I was a kid, I would have eaten it every day. Thanks for posting.

  7. Can I just leave out the Chia seeds? I cannot have nuts or seeds and this leaves me with one kind of oatmeal...
