21 Day Fix Week 1 Progress Update

Well it's official, week 1 is in the bag!  I have successful completed an entire 7 days of the 21 day fix!  WOHOO!

I don't sweat I sparkle

I have to say that this week has been especially challenging because my wonderful husband is finishing the Ultimate Reset, and he is down 9.5 lbs in 2 weeks by the way, and I am starting the Fix which created for crazy meal times in our house.  Two completely different nutrition plans can create a lot of dirty dishes and hungry people!

WhatHave I Learned:

1.  I am a clean eater for goodness sakes and I really view myself in great health.  But I was totally over eating on good food! My portion of complex carbs from whole grains like sweet potatoes, brown rice, quinoa and oatmeal was WAY to big!  I was eating too many servings of fruits per day and actually to many good fats.

2.  The containers are NOT really SMALL!  When I opened the package up when I got it I just about fell over with the size of the containers.  I thought for sure I would starve over the next 21 days.  But literally that is not the case at all.  You can jam a whole lot of good stuff into the containers and fill up your entire plate.

3. I learned that sometimes I get so busy that I don't eat enough and I under eat!  So I have to remind myself to stay on track.  I also learned that I was slacking a little in my water intake department!  Currently working to get that back up.

4.  I learned that a 30 minute workout each day IS TOTALLY EFFECTIVE and even being someone who is ADVANCED in their fitness level can still be sore from an at home 30 minute workout!!  Holy BAJESUS my body hurts something fierce this week.  I felt like I had a stick up my butt it was so sore!  LOL!!!!!

5.  I was hungry at the beginning of the week, but now that my body has adjusted I am totally satisfied and I feel great!  I realized that I almost don't even need the tally sheets anymore because I know how many servings I have left for the day.
21 Day Fix Meal Plan

Yesterday I was faced with a tough decision!  Landon invited me to his sweetheart tea at preschool.  They prepared this amazing little snack of bunt cake, cherries from the can, icing, and a chocolate heart on top~  He was so proud of his creation and couldn't wait for me to take a bite!  I sat there feverishly thinking about what container this fit into!  I mean honestly it had been 7 days and I hadn't cheated once!  I couldn't break it now!  But my mom sense kicked in and I had to go for it.  I dove right in and had a few bites but offerred to share the rest with him!  Luckily he loved it and gobbled up the rest.  But guess what, in the grand scheme of things it was a few bites and it didn't ruin my progress.  I stopped at that, drank my water and went on with my day.  Life happens and we just go with it.

For Valentines Day we ate at home and Matt made me a great piece of flank steak and got it to fit into our red protein container, a side of garlic veggies and a sweet potato.  That was our romantic Valentines date with 2 kids who were not really wanting to eat dinner last night!  We just smiled at each other and said, MAN THIS IS WHAT MARRIAGE AND KIDS DOES TO VALENTINES DAY!!
{total side note right!!!}

The workouts were bombdigity and I enjoyed every single one of them.  By the time I actually looked at the clock I was almost done. The workouts were engaging yet challenging and yes I was sore!!! Each day is a different workout that works a different part of your body but is all connected into the bigger picture of your transformation.

So at the end of week 1 the most noticeable change I can see in my body is my stomach.  I am no longer bloated and puffy.  I have a flat stomach which I had been struggling to get because I believe I was getting to many carbs before.

I really feel amazing and this is so much more than a diet or a 21 day fix.  I truly believe that for many people this is going to be that ah-ha moment that impacts their lives forever!

I am so looking forward to the changes in my body over the next 2 weeks. I will keep you posted for sure!!!

  1. I start Monday and am really glad to have read this in advance of that. I have increased my water intake over the last week because I gave up diet coke.... It will take me many repetitions of the 21 day fix but I wont finish if I don't start. So Monday is the start of a new life and I look forward to incorporating this into my Focus T25 and Hip Hop Abs. And, after reading this, I am even more excited about getting started!

  2. Glad to hear I wasn't the only sore one! I'm on day 5 today and have been doing Body Beast (previously done t25 and insanity) so I was really surprised that I was sore after the first couple of days. Pilates Fix really helped relax some of those muscles so I'm ready for Cardio Fix today. I will probably do a couple of rounds because I wanna drop about 20lbs before summer, which is totally doable on this program! But like you, make meals is crazy right now! Trying to feed 6 people and keeping to my meal plan is insane!!

  4. I really enjoyed reading your blog. I ordered the 21 Day Fix, backordered until the end of March. I broke my wrist 6 weeks ago (got my cast off yesterday) , do you think I would be able to do the modified workouts or are there pushups, etc. in them??
    Thanks.

  6. Is it strange that I found the 3 day quick fix to be more filling than the regular eating plan? (im in the 1200 calorie bracket)
